Your contributions on the field, including tries and assists, earn Fantasy Points. Track your Player Value and build your game and career stats. The Athlete Portal brings it together so you can compare your progress with friends, event rivals and players on the global leaderboard. Player ratings track performance, while XP rewards activity and achievements on the platform.

Player Values and salary caps use virtual dollars. They add a team building challenge to the game and are not extra entry fees or payments to players.

01Player ValuesYour event performance shapes your Player Value. New players start at $4,000, and returning players keep their latest value when they enter another event or change teams.
02Team Salary CapsAdd your players’ virtual values together to check your squad against the $76,000 event cap. Each vacant slot in the 12 player roster counts as $6,000. Your Team Manager can review the roster in the Athlete Portal.

Chase the Margin

Teams sitting third or fourth after Game 3 must defend their required points margin across Games 4 and 5 to qualify for the Chase the Margin draw. Qualifying earns a draw entry; winners are selected at random.

Every player registers as part of a team. Team Managers create the team and invite players, or players can request to join a team through the Tag Series Athlete Portal.

Create your team

  1. Sign up or log in to the Athlete Portal.
  2. Create your Challenger team.
  3. Invite between 8 and 12 players.
  4. Select an event and complete the team entry.

  1. Sign up or log in to the Athlete Portal.
  2. Accept an invitation from your Team Manager, or request to join a team.
  3. Complete your player profile.
  4. Check your event details with your Team Manager.

Most Challenger events charge $600 for the entire team. Some locations may vary, so always confirm the final team fee on the event listing before registering.

Split evenly: $50 each with 12 players, or $60 each with 10.

Build your squad

Eight minimum.
Twelve maximum.

Challenger registrations are team based. Individual players cannot enter an event without joining a registered team first.

What your team needs

Match your shirts.
Number every player.

A full custom uniform is welcome, but it is not required. A simple matching shirt is enough, provided every player has a clearly visible number. Every player must also wear either official Tag shorts or a Tag belt. We recommend placing a large number on both the front and back so referees and opposition teams can identify each player clearly when allocating points.

  • Large numbersUse large, easy to read numbers. They do not have to appear on both the front and back, but we recommend using both so referees and opposition players can clearly identify players when awarding points after games. Numbers can be sublimated, heat transferred, spray painted or added with permanent marker.
  • Official playing equipmentOfficial Tag shorts must be worn and can be purchased from your local host. Alternatively, players may wear Tag belts supplied by the local host. If you use a belt, you must tape up your pockets for each game.

Where do I register?+

Use the Athlete Portal. Team Managers create and enter teams there, while players accept an invitation or request to join an existing squad.

Can I enter as an individual?+

Challenger entry is team-based, so you need to join a registered squad before the event. Your Team Manager can invite you, or you can request to join through the portal. If you don’t know a team yet, ask the event host about teams looking for players.

Can our event price be different?+

Yes. $600 is the standard entry fee for the entire team, not per player. Some locations may vary, and the individual event listing always shows the final team entry price.

What counts as a matching shirt?+

Every player needs the same team shirt with a clearly visible number. It can be a simple numbered shirt or a fully sublimated uniform.
